We manufacture every N-Fab DuraStep from 3-inch round tubing with 0.12-inch wall thickness, significantly thicker than the 0.08-inch tubing found in economy step bars. This reinforced construction prevents denting when hauling heavy cargo or carrying multiple passengers who rely on the step for daily truck access.
The powder-coat finish is applied after a multi-stage wash and phosphate treatment that etches the steel surface, creating a mechanical bond between the coating and the base metal. The DuraStep LED lighting system connects to your truck’s door unlock signal, illuminating the step area whenever you approach the vehicle with your key fob. Each side receives two LED pods positioned at the front and rear mounting points, directing light downward toward the step pad and ground below.
We include a plug-and-play wiring harness designed for your specific truck model, eliminating the need to splice into factory wiring. The harness routes through existing grommet openings in the firewall and rocker panel, keeping wires protected from road debris and avoiding exposed connections that corrode over time.
Vehicle-Specific Mounting Brackets
We engineer DuraStep mounting brackets individually for each truck platform, ensuring the step attaches directly to factory frame holes without drilling into sheet metal or rocker panels. This frame-direct mounting provides structural support and prevents the step from pulling away under load.

The warranty requires installation according to our instructions and does not cover damage from accidents, modifications, or commercial snow plow use. DuraStep requires minimal maintenance beyond regular washing to remove road salt, mud, and debris. We recommend washing the steps with soap and water every two to four weeks in winter climates where road salt is used, paying attention to the mounting bracket areas where salt can accumulate.
